Jane Dika, MA, LPC, CAADC, CCS, NCC

Jane has over ten years of experience in the mental health field. She has worked in both residential and outpatient programs, has supervised clinicians, and has experience as a manager of outpatient programs. Jane is a Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor. She is a Certified Clinical Supervisor and supervises clinicians providing treatment for clients with substance use disorders.

COURSE:

Exploring the ASAM Criteria: Treatment Criteria for Addictive, Substance Related, and Co-Occurring Conditions  6CE Hours MCBAP Approved (specific)

GOAL:

Participants will develop their knowledge of the background and foundation of ASAM criteria and its application in the assessment and treatment process of persons with substance use disorders.   

SCHEDULE:

8:30am – 9am: Registration

9am – 10:20am: Review background of ASAM, its historical foundation, and changes.

10:20am – 10:35am: Break

10:35am – 11:50am: Describe and explore basic underlying concepts and guiding principles of the ASAM criteria, and define various levels of service.

12pm-1pm: Lunch break

1pm – 2:20pm: Define various levels of service, application of diagnostic and admission criteria and how to use them to meet the appropriate level of care

2:20pm – 2:35pm: Break

2:35pm – 3:50am: Continued discussion of application of ASAM criteria to meet the appropriate level of care and exploration of level of care placement

3:50pm- 4pm: Questions and feedback
